Etymology[]
- The name Shiho means "will, purpose" (志) (shi) and "protect/protection, maintain, guarantee" (保) (ho).
- Shiho's surname Kamakura means "sickle" (鎌) (kama) and "warehouse, storehouse, barn, treasury, granary, cellar, magazine, godown, depository, elevator, storage place, repository, supply shed, grain elevator, stockpile, arsenal" (倉) (kura).
- Sickle is a short-handled farming tool with a semicircular blade, used for cutting grain, lopping or trimming.
- An alternate kanji spelling, 神座, means “God” (神) (kami) and “seat” 座 (za) but come together to spell 神座 (kamakura), meaning “a seat for gods”. Despite having no relation to her actual surname, this may be a reference to her family’s wealthy status.
